Kitchen Kitten: Crawfish Alfredo
This was a hit on my instagram post of a modern twist on a Cajun classic. I actually made it last minute while prepping for another meal. It's so easy to have all the ingredients to make any kind of Alfredo pasta you'd like.
I had some frozen crawfish tails and couldn't wait to use them for this. A lot of times we assume crawfish can only be enjoyed in-season and in a seafood boil - but adding them to sauces and pastas are delicious.
I SAY THIS OFTEN: USING CANNED PASTA SAUCE IS NO MORE!
No more Prego, or that other Bertolini's (not sure how to spell it) canned pasta sauce. As easy as Alfredo sauce is, you will never forget that fresh taste of homemade Alfredo.
Although I add cream cheese to my sauce, which is not an authentic ingredient in the Italian staple - I always adding a bit more creaminess in pastas, to really help bind all the ingredients together.
I use the same method of building my Alfredo sauce and pairing it with multiple options of meat like chicken, shrimp, crawfish, lobster, salmon, etc.
What is your favorite kind of Alfredo pasta? Would you try the crawfish Alfredo at home? Recipe below! Keep me updated!
